- Provide exceptional care to patients undergoing infusion therapy in accordance with Mayo Clinic's standards and protocols.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor patients' response to therapy.
- Assess and document patients' physical and emotional status, and communicate any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families about infusion therapy procedures, possible side effects, and self-care techniques.
- Monitor and maintain patients' IV lines and equipment, ensuring proper functioning and sterility.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patients' medical records, including medication administration, vital signs, and other assessments.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and healthcare team members.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
- Stay current with advancements and changes in infusion therapy, attending trainings and continuing education opportunities as needed.
- Comfort and support patients during procedures, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold ethical and professional standards.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor to other team members, promoting a collaborative and patient-centered approach to care.
Valid Rn License: A Registered Nurse Must Hold A Current And Valid Rn License In The State Where The Infusion Therapy Center Is Located.
Infusion Therapy Experience: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Infusion Therapy, With A Strong Understanding Of Iv Medications And Administration Protocols.
Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Is Required For All Rn Positions At Mayo Clinic, Including Those In The Infusion Therapy Center.
Advanced Certification: Candidates With Additional Certifications Such As Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (Crni) Or Certified Intravenous Therapy Nurse (Crni) Will Be Given Preference.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Member Of The Healthcare Team, A Registered Nurse In The Infusion Therapy Center Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Caregivers, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Should Also Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Other Team Members To Provide High-Quality Care.
