  2. Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and translate them into technical requirements for the platform.
  3. Collaborate with other engineers and developers to design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.
  4. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team.
  5. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security protocols.
  6. Oversee the implementation of new features and functionalities, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  7. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology, and make recommendations for incorporating new tools and techniques into the platform.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the stability and performance of the platform.

  10. Continuously monitor and optimize the platform for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

  12. Stay abreast of healthcare industry regulations and compliance standards, ensuring the platform meets all necessary requirements.
  13. Represent Mayo Clinic as a subject matter expert in technology and engineering at industry events and conferences.
  14. Communicate updates and progress on platform development to key stakeholders and leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Software Engineering: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Software Engineering, With At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience In Designing And Developing Complex Software Systems. They Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Software Development Methodologies, Programming Languages, And Software Architecture Principles.

  • Expertise In Cloud Computing: As A Principal Platform Engineer, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Designing And Maintaining The Cloud Infrastructure At Mayo Clinic. Therefore, They Should Have Extensive Experience In Working With Cloud Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, Or Google Cloud. They Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of Cloud Security, Scalability, And Cost Optimization.

  • Leadership Skills: As A Key Member Of The Team, The Principal Platform Engineer Will Be Expected To Provide Technical Leadership And Mentorship To Junior Engineers. They Should Have Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams To Drive Projects To Completion.

  • Experience With Devops And Ci/Cd: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Devops Principles And Experience With Implementing Continuous Integration And Delivery (Ci/Cd) Processes. They Should Be Proficient In Tools Such As Jenkins, Git, And Docker, And Have Experience With Automating Software Deployment And Testing.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Technology: Mayo Clinic Is A Leading Healthcare Organization, And The Principal Platform Engineer Will Be Responsible For Designing And Maintaining Software Systems That Support Patient Care And Research.
