  1. Conduct initial patient evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  2. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with physical disabilities and conditions.
  3. Perform procedures such as joint injections, nerve blocks, and electrodiagnostic studies.
  4. Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  6. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and techniques in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records for all patients.
  8. Educate patients and their families on their conditions and treatment options.
  9. Participate in research and clinical trials to contribute to advancements in the field.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and legal requirements.
  11. Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families.

Job Qualifications

  • Medical Degree: A Physiatrist – General Pm&R With Procedural Focus At Mayo Clinic Must Hold A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Typically Includes Completion Of A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathy (Do) Program.

  • Residency Training: Candidates Must Have Completed A Residency In Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation (Pm&R) Or A Related Field, Such As Neurology, Orthopedics, Or Sports Medicine. This Residency Should Be Accredited By The Accreditation Council For Graduate Medical Education (Acgme).

  • Board Certification: To Be Considered For A Physiatrist – General Pm&R With Procedural Focus Position At Mayo Clinic, Candidates Must Be Board Certified By The American Board Of Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation (Abpmr) Or Have Completed An Accredited Subspecialty Certification.

  • Procedural Focus: As The Job Title Suggests, Candidates For This Position Should Have A Strong Focus On Procedural Skills, Such As Joint Injections, Nerve Blocks, And Electrodiagnostic Testing. Experience And Proficiency In These Areas Will Be Highly Valued By Mayo Clinic.
