Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program- Current Pharmacy Technician certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months of hire- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an inpatient setting- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment- Excellent communication and customer service skills - Proficiency in computer and technology applications related to pharmacy operations - Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays - Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development - Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing processes - Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to medication use and handling - Commitment to upholding Mayo Clinic's values of compassion, respect, integrity, and teamwork in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

  1. Assist inpatient pharmacy operations by accurately and efficiently preparing and dispensing medications to patients.
  2. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use and adherence to treatment plans.
  3. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals by answering questions and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Maintain inventory and ordering of medications and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
  5. Follow all state and federal laws and regulations related to medication use and handling, ensuring compliance and patient safety.
  6. Utilize computer and technology applications to accurately document and track medication orders and dispensing activities.
  7. Continuously learn and stay updated on new medications, treatment guidelines, and pharmacy operations to provide the best care for patients.
  8. Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in all medication preparation and dispensing processes, including compounding and IV admixture.
  9. Uphold Mayo Clinic's values of compassion, respect, integrity, and teamwork in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  10. Utilize strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage workload in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
  11. Lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed to handle and dispense medications and supplies.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient and institutional information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the pharmacy department.
  14. Willingly work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of patients and the institution.
  15. Complete all required training and maintain current Pharmacy Technician certification.
  16. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  17. Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  18. Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
