Bachelor's Degree In Perfusion Or Related Field: A Perfusionist At Mayo Clinic Must Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Perfusion Or A Related Field Such As Cardiovascular Technology Or Biology. This Provides A Strong Foundation In The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Role.
Certification By The American Board Of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Abcp): Mayo Clinic Requires All Perfusionists To Be Certified By The Abcp. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency And Adherence To National Standards In The Field Of Perfusion.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Candidates For A Perfusionist Position At Mayo Clinic Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Cardiac Surgery Or Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (Cvicu). This Ensures They Have A Strong Understanding Of The Patient Care Process And Can Handle The Demands Of A Fast-Paced Environment.
