Job Description

Welcome to Mayo Clinic, where we are dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care. As a Patient Care Assistant in our Float Pool, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and contribute to their overall well-being. This is a supplemental position, providing flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to gain experience in various units.   1. Greet and welcome patients and their families to Mayo Clinic, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for during their visit.
  2. Assist patients with their basic needs, such as helping them to get settled in their rooms and providing them with necessary amenities.
  3. Collaborate with nursing staff to provide exceptional patient care, including assisting with bathing, feeding, and other personal care tasks.
  4. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, following all infection control protocols and ensuring equipment is properly sanitized.
  6. Provide emotional support to patients and their families, showing empathy and compassion during difficult times.
  7. Respond to patient calls and requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
  8. Document patient interactions and observations accurately and thoroughly in medical records.
  9. Float to different units as needed, adapting to the unique needs and dynamics of each department.
  10. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, providing updates and information as needed.
  11. Attend trainings and education sessions to continually improve skills and knowledge related to patient care.
  12. Uphold the mission and values of Mayo Clinic, consistently providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
  13. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  14. Embrace a diverse and inclusive work environment, treating all patients and team members with respect and dignity.
  15. Take initiative and actively contribute to the overall success of the Float Pool team and Mayo Clinic as a whole.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
