At Mayo Clinic, we are looking for an experienced, compassionate Patient Care Assistant who can provide exceptional care to our patients. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, have excellent communication skills, and have a true passion for providing outstanding patient service. The Patient Care Assistant will provide direct and indirect patient care, as delegated by the Registered Nurse, to ensure that patients receive quality care. The successful candidate will have knowledge of age-specific care and relevant healthcare regulations, as well as the ability to work with sensitive patients in a respectful and confidential manner. Requirements for the position include an associate degree or equivalent work experience in a healthcare setting, a current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS), and a minimum of one year of work experience in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct and indirect patient care to ensure that patients receive quality care, as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
  2. Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the Registered Nurse.
  3. Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  4. Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and activities.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
  6. Ensure patient safety and comfort by following established safety protocols and procedures.
  7. Educate patients and families about proper care and treatments.
  8. Respond appropriately to patient inquiries and concerns.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  10. Utilize medical equipment and supplies in accordance with established safety protocols.
