  1. Provide exceptional patient care in accordance with Mayo Clinic standards and protocols.
  2. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  3. Utilize advanced clinical knowledge and skills to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of medical conditions in the emergency department.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  5. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  6. Stay up-to-date on current medical practices, procedures, and technologies in emergency medicine through ongoing education and training.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  9. Serve as a resource and mentor for other healthcare professionals, including nurses and support staff.
  10. Contribute to research and scholarly activities within the emergency medicine department.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Licensure And Certification: A Valid And Active License As A Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant In The State Of Minnesota And Certification From A Recognized National Certifying Organization, Such As The American Academy Of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program (Aanpcp) Or The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).

  • Emergency Medicine Experience: Prior Experience Working In An Emergency Medicine Setting, Preferably In A Fast-Paced And High-Volume Environment. This May Include Experience In Urgent Care, Emergency Department, Or Trauma Center.

  • Advanced Education And Training: A Master's Degree In Nursing Or Physician Assistant Studies From An Accredited Institution, As Well As Completion Of A Specialized Training Program In Emergency Medicine.

  • Strong Clinical Skills: Proficiency In Conducting Comprehensive Patient Assessments, Ordering And Interpreting Diagnostic Tests, And Developing And Implementing Treatment Plans. In Addition, Candidates Should Possess Strong Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities, As Well As The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential In Emergency Medicine. Candidates Should Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Compassionately, And Demonstrate Empathy And Cultural Sensitivity In Their Interactions With Patients. They Should Also Possess Strong Teamwork And Collaboration Skills To Work Effectively With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
