
Nuclear Medicine Physicist
Mayo Clinic is seeking an experienced and innovative Nuclear Medicine Physicist to join our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our team of professionals. The successful candidate must have a doctorate degree in nuclear medicine physics or related field and must be board certified with the American Board of Radiology. The Nuclear Medicine Physicist will be responsible for overseeing all radiation safety, quality assurance, and imaging protocols of our Nuclear Medicine department. The ideal candidate will have experience in nuclear medicine, nuclear physics, and radiation safety, and must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively with a team of other professionals in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning radiation safety, quality assurance, and imaging protocols.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive nuclear medicine program that meets all regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the daily operations of the nuclear medicine department, including scheduling, staffing, and patient flow.
- Develop and implement quality assurance protocols to ensure that all medical imaging and nuclear medicine procedures are performed accurately and safely.
- Perform radiation safety audits to ensure compliance with established protocols.
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures and interpret images.
- Collaborate with other professionals to provide optimal patient care.
- Educate and train staff and students on the principles of nuclear medicine and radiation safety.
- Stay up-to-date on new developments and innovations in the field of nuclear medicine.
- Provide consultation to physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding nuclear medicine procedures.
