  1. Diagnose and treat patients with neurological tumors in accordance with Mayo Clinic's standards and protocols.
  2. Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including reviewing medical histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans.
  3. Provide comprehensive and compassionate care to patients, taking into consideration their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
  4. Stay updated on the latest advancements in neuro-oncology and incorporate new treatments and technologies into patient care plans.
  5. Collaborate with other specialists, including neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, and pathologists, to develop a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and potential side effects in a clear and empathetic manner.
  7. Document patient progress and response to treatment, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  8. Participate in research studies and clinical trials to advance the field of neuro-oncology and improve patient outcomes.
  9. Educate medical students, residents, and fellows on neuro-oncology principles and practices.
  10. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.
  11. Participate in departmental and institutional meetings, committees, and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care and organizational processes.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Job Qualifications
  • Board Certification In Neuro-Oncology: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Completed An Accredited Fellowship Program In Neuro-Oncology And Be Board Certified In This Specialty.

  • Extensive Experience In Diagnosing And Treating Brain And Spinal Cord Tumors: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Managing Complex And Rare Cases Of Brain And Spinal Cord Tumors, Including Primary And Metastatic Tumors.

  • Knowledge Of Current Treatment Options And Clinical Trials: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Latest Treatment Options And Be Familiar With Ongoing Clinical Trials In The Field Of Neuro-Oncology.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Multidisciplinary Team: Neuro-Oncologists At Mayo Clinic Work Closely With Other Specialists, Such As Neurosurgeons, Radiation Oncologists, And Pathologists, To Provide Comprehensive Care For Patients. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills.
