- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory testing procedures, quality control measures, and standards set by regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Monitor and analyze quality control data to identify and troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical problems that may arise.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all laboratory tests, procedures, and results.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new laboratory tests and procedures.
- Stay current with industry advancements and new technologies in the field of medical technology.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols in the laboratory.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals by effectively communicating laboratory results and addressing any concerns or questions.

Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For Both Mt And Mlt Positions At Mayo Clinic. This Degree Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Laboratory Tests And Procedures Accurately And Efficiently.
Certification By A Recognized Organization: Mayo Clinic Prefers Candidates Who Are Certified By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) As A Medical Technologist (Mt) Or Medical Laboratory Technician (Mlt). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Proficiency And Knowledge In The Field Of Laboratory Science.
Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting Is Highly Valued At Mayo Clinic. This Experience Helps Candidates Understand The Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment Of A Busy Laboratory, As Well As The Importance Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail In This Role.
