- Provide compassionate and quality care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by physicians.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any abnormalities or concerns to the physician.
- Prepare and assist with procedures and examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: Candidates Must Have Successfully Completed A Recognized Medical Assistant Program, Including Coursework In Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology, And Clinical Procedures. This Ensures A Strong Foundation In Medical Knowledge And Skills Necessary For The Job.
Certification As A Medical Assistant: Candidates Must Hold A Current Certification As A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma) From An Accredited Institution. This Demonstrates A Level Of Competence And Proficiency In The Field Of Medical Assisting.
Experience In Oncology/Infusion: Previous Experience In An Oncology Or Infusion Setting Is Highly Desirable For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Needs Of Patients Receiving Cancer Treatment And Be Familiar With The Specialized Procedures And Equipment Used In These Settings.
Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Records (Emr): Candidates Should Be Proficient In Using Electronic Medical Records Systems, As This Is A Key Aspect Of The Job. Familiarity With Emr Systems Used At Mayo Clinic, Such As Epic, Is A Plus.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Medical Assistants In Oncology/Infusion Settings Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
