  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Specimen Operations department, ensuring that all procedures and protocols are followed accurately and efficiently.
  2. Supervise and provide direction to lab assistants, ensuring they are trained and performing their duties effectively.
  3. Maintain inventory and order supplies necessary for specimen processing.
  4. Ensure all specimens are handled and processed in accordance with established guidelines and safety protocols.
  5. Monitor and maintain the quality control of all specimens to ensure accurate results.
  6. Develop and implement new procedures and protocols to improve efficiency and accuracy in specimen processing.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of test results.
  8. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding specimen collection and processing.
  9. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to laboratory operations and specimen handling.
  10. Provide leadership and support to the team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  11. Train and mentor new lab assistants, ensuring they understand and adhere to all policies and procedures.
  12. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen processing and laboratory operations.
  13. Participate in departmental meetings and provide input on process improvement initiatives.
  14. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in laboratory operations, incorporating new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
  15. Act as a liaison between the Specimen Operations department and other departments within the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Or Chemistry.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, With At Least 1 Year In A Supervisory Or Lead Role.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Operations, Including Specimen Handling, Processing, And Testing Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Train And Supervise Other Lab Assistants.

  • Familiarity With Laboratory Safety Regulations And Protocols, Including Handling Of Biohazardous Materials And Proper Use Of Personal Protective Equipment.
