  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and capillary punctures, with precision and care.
  2. Collect and label specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols and procedures.
  3. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory for testing.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to uphold safety standards and prevent contamination.
  5. Follow established protocols for patient identification and confidentiality.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff.
  7. Utilize electronic health records and laboratory information systems to accurately document and track specimen information.
  8. Adhere to all quality control and quality assurance measures to ensure accurate test results.
  9. Assist in the training and orientation of new laboratory personnel as needed.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in phlebotomy techniques and technology.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care and contribute to medical research initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Education And Training: A Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or A Related Field, As Well As Certification As A Phlebotomist From An Accredited Program.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures: This Includes Understanding Of Proper Specimen Collection Techniques, Handling And Processing Of Samples, And Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Instrumentation.

  • Attention To Detail: A Laboratory Service Tech - Phlebotomist Must Be Able To Accurately Document Patient Information And Ensure That Samples Are Properly Labeled And Tracked To Prevent Errors.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Laboratory Staff. This Includes The Ability To Provide Clear Instructions And Explanations To Patients And Accurately Report Test Results To Physicians.

  • Ability To Handle Stress: Working In A Laboratory Setting Can Be Fast-Paced And High-Pressure At Times. A Laboratory Service Tech - Phlebotomist Must Be Able To Handle Stress And Remain Calm Under Pressure While Performing Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
