
Instrument Technician - Endoscopy

- Handle endoscopic instruments and equipment with precision and care to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
- Adhere to strict sterilization and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of endoscopic instruments and supplies, ensuring they are properly stored and stocked.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to prepare and set up instruments for endoscopic procedures.
- Troubleshoot issues with endoscopic instruments and equipment, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of instrument usage, repairs, and maintenance.
- Follow established protocols for tracking and disposing of used instruments and equipment.
- Stay current on advancements and updates in endoscopic technology and procedures.
- Train and supervise new Instrument Technicians as needed.
- Maintain a strong understanding of patient safety and confidentiality guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to the handling and use of medical instruments and equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with patients and their families.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience Working As An Instrument Technician In An Endoscopy Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Medical Facility.
Successful Completion Of A Formal Training Program In Endoscopy Technology Or Equivalent Education And Experience.
Certification As A Registered Endoscope Reprocessor (Cer) Through The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or Equivalent Certification.
Strong Knowledge Of Endoscopy Equipment And Instruments, Including Troubleshooting And Maintenance Procedures.
Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
