  1. Perform thorough and accurate cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and standards.
  2. Inspect and assemble instruments to ensure they are functioning properly and free of any defects or damage.
  3. Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
  4. Maintain detailed records of instrument processing activities, including tracking and documenting any repairs or replacements.
  5. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient instrument processing.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems with instruments or equipment as they arise.
  7. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on industry standards and best practices.
  8. Follow all departmental policies and procedures to ensure quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  9. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  10. Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction, and contribute to the overall mission of Mayo Clinic.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient workflow.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Completion Of A Sterile Processing Or Instrument Processing Training Program.

  • One Year Of Experience In A Sterile Processing Or Instrument Processing Role.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Basic Understanding Of Surgical Instruments And Equipment.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment And Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
