
Institutional Review Board Associate Specialist
At Mayo Clinic, we are currently looking for an outstanding Institutional Review Board (IRB) Associate Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional organizational and communication skills, be detail-oriented and have a passion for healthcare and clinical research. The IRB Associate Specialist will be responsible for providing support to the IRB and its members to ensure that research studies conducted at Mayo Clinic meet federal, state, and local standards. In addition to ensuring compliance, this position will be tasked with providing administrative support for the IRB, including maintaining records and preparing documentation for review. The successful candidate will not only be knowledgeable in the principles of research and regulatory requirements of clinical research, but must also possess excellent organizational and communication skills.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Healthcare Administration, etc.)• Minimum of 2 years of experience in research coordination or related field• Knowledge of the principles of research and regulatory requirements of clinical research• Experience with the IRB process• Excellent communication and organizational skills• Detail-oriented with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment• Strong project management and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that research studies conducted at Mayo Clinic meet federal, state, and local standards.
- Provide administrative support for the IRB, including maintaining records and preparing documentation for review.
- Assist in developing and maintaining IRB policies and procedures.
- Assist in the review of research protocols, amendments, and other IRB materials.
- Monitor and review exceptions to IRB regulations.
- Communicate with research teams regarding compliance issues and answer questions related to the IRB process.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations related to the IRB activities.
- Provide support and guidance to research staff and faculty regarding research ethics and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing and delivering IRB training and educational materials.
- Assist in the development of research projects and grant applications.
