- Safely transport patients from the hospital to their homes or care facilities using a company-provided vehicle.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies for patient comfort.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation.
- Collaborate with hospital staff to coordinate patient discharge schedules and ensure timely and efficient transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of patient pick-up and drop-off times, mileage, and any other relevant information.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate department.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Attend required trainings and meetings to stay updated on hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance to patients with mobility or other special needs, ensuring they are safely and comfortably transported.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, representing the hospital in a positive manner.
- Collaborate with other hospital staff to ensure a smooth and seamless discharge process for patients.
- Attend to any patient needs or emergencies during transportation, including contacting the appropriate medical personnel if necessary.
- Take necessary precautions to ensure patient safety during transportation, such as securing wheelchairs or medical equipment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, patient care, and vehicle operation.
Valid Cdl Class B License: A Hospital Discharge Driver At Mayo Clinic Must Have A Valid Cdl Class B License To Operate The Hospital's Specialized Vehicles.
Clean Driving Record: Candidates Must Have A Clean Driving Record With No Major Traffic Violations Or Duis To Ensure The Safe Transportation Of Patients And Medical Equipment.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Equipment: Hospital Discharge Drivers Must Have A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Equipment To Communicate Effectively With Healthcare Professionals And Safely Transport Patients And Equipment.
Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Objects: This Job May Require Lifting And Moving Heavy Objects Such As Medical Equipment And Patient Beds, So Candidates Must Have The Physical Ability To Do So.
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Hospital Discharge Driver, You Will Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis.
