Job Description

We are searching for an experienced and compassionate Hospice Aide to join our team at Mayo Clinic. The ideal candidate for this position is a patient-focused individual who has the necessary skills to provide quality palliative care to our patients and their families. Our Hospice Aide will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for our patients.Required Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent• Successful completion of an accredited Home Health Aide training program• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification• Previous hospice experience preferred• Basic computer skills• Ability to communicate effectively in English• Ability to maintain confidential information• Must demonstrate good moral character and dependability• Must have reliable transportationAt Mayo Clinic, we believe in delivering the best possible care to our patients and families. Responsibilities of a Hospice Aide:

  1. Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  2. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
  3. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families.
  4. Prepare meals for patients according to their dietary needs.
  5. Assist with light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning and laundry.
  6. Transport patients to medical appointments and other activities.
  7. Administer medications as prescribed by the healthcare team.
  8. Provide respite care to family members and caregivers.
  9. Maintain patient records and document care activities.
  10. Comply with all safety regulations and policies.
