  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' home care needs and recommend appropriate medical equipment based on their conditions.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper coordination of care and equipment for patients.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, equipment orders, and any other pertinent information.
  5. Educate patients and their families on the proper use and maintenance of medical equipment, including troubleshooting and safety protocols.
  6. Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure availability of equipment for patients.
  7. Communicate effectively with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations and ensure timely and accurate billing.
  8. Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in home medical equipment to provide the best possible care to patients.
  9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols when handling and delivering equipment.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For This Position.

  • Previous Experience In Medical Equipment: Candidates Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Medical Equipment Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For This Role, As The Specialist Will Be Responsible For Understanding And Communicating Complex Medical Concepts To Patients And Healthcare Providers.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Providers Is Crucial For Success In This Role. The Specialist Should Also Have Strong Interpersonal Skills To Build And Maintain Relationships With Team Members And External Vendors.

  • Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Equipment: This Position May Require The Specialist To Lift And Move Heavy Medical Equipment, Therefore Physical Strength And The Ability To Follow Proper Lifting Techniques Are Important Qualifications.
