Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Health Unit Coordinator At Mayo Clinic Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Knowledge And Skills In Areas Such As Communication, Organization, And Computer Literacy.

  • Certified Health Unit Coordinator (Chuc) Certification: To Be Considered For This Role, Individuals Should Have A Chuc Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The National Association Of Health Unit Coordinators (Nahuc). This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of A Health Unit Coordinator.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates Should Have At Least One Year Of Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Similar Role. This Experience Will Provide A Solid Foundation In Medical Terminology, Patient Care Processes, And Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Solid Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Is Essential For This Role.
