  1. Assist Genetic Counselors: Provide support to genetic counselors in delivering personalized and comprehensive genetic services to patients.
  2. Coordinate Patient Appointments: Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services.
  3. Prepare Patient Records: Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including family history and medical records.
  4. Conduct Intake Interviews: Conduct intake interviews with patients to gather necessary information for genetic counseling sessions.
  5. Assist with Testing Procedures: Assist in performing various genetic testing procedures as directed by genetic counselors.
  6. Provide Education: Educate patients on genetic disorders, inheritance patterns, and potential risks for themselves and their families.
  7. Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  8. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Collaborate with other healthcare team members, such as physicians and nurses, to provide coordinated care to patients.
  9. Participate in Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay updated on advancements in the field of genetics and counseling.
  10. Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies related to genetic counseling and patient care.
  11. Foster a Positive Environment: Foster a positive and compassionate environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
  12. Demonstrate Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care at all times.
  13. Document Patient Interactions: Accurately document all patient interactions and progress in electronic medical records.
  14. Communicate with Patients: Communicate with patients in a clear and empathetic manner, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  15. Contribute to Team Efforts: Contribute to team efforts by actively participating in meetings, sharing knowledge and expertise, and supporting colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Genetics, Biology, Or A Related Field.

  • Previous Experience In A Clinical Or Laboratory Setting, Preferably In Genetics.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Basic Genetics Principles And Techniques.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Patients And Healthcare Professionals.

  • Ability To Maintain Patient Confidentiality And Adhere To Ethical Standards In Genetic Counseling.
