
EMT - Emergency Medical Technician

- Provide immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations, including assessing and treating injuries and illnesses.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to gather information and provide updates on patient status.
- Remain calm under pressure and make quick, critical decisions in high-stress situations.
- Uphold the high standard of patient care set by Mayo Clinic, following all protocols and procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes or complications.
- Administer basic life support measures, such as CPR, as needed.
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities for further treatment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other EMTs, paramedics, and medical staff to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
- Continuously stay updated on emergency medical procedures, protocols, and technologies.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during emergency situations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
- Participate in training and education programs to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
- Represent Mayo Clinic in a professional and compassionate manner at all times.
Valid Emt Certification: Candidates Must Have A Current And Valid Emt Certification From An Accredited Institution.
Experience In Emergency Medicine: Previous Experience Working In A Fast-Paced Emergency Medical Setting, Such As An Ambulance Or Emergency Room, Is Preferred.
Strong Communication Skills: Emts Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Their Families, And Other Medical Professionals.
Physical Fitness And Stamina: The Job Of An Emt Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring The Ability To Lift And Move Patients, As Well As Work Long Hours.
Flexibility And Adaptability: Emts Must Be Able To Quickly Adapt To Changing Situations And Work Well Under Pressure, As Emergency Situations Can Be Unpredictable.
