Mayo Clinic is seeking an Education Specialist for our Transfusion Lab, responsible for developing and delivering educational programs and materials to our team of healthcare professionals.   1. Develop and deliver educational programs and materials to healthcare professionals within the Transfusion Lab at Mayo Clinic.
  2. Stay current on industry trends and advancements in transfusion laboratory operations and incorporate this knowledge into educational materials and programs.
  3. Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of educational content.
  4. Design and implement training programs for new employees and ongoing education for current employees.
  5. Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of educational programs and make necessary improvements.
  6. Serve as a resource for staff, providing guidance and support on transfusion laboratory operations and best practices.
  7. Create and maintain educational resources, including manuals, presentations, and online learning modules.
  8. Plan and facilitate workshops, seminars, and other educational events for staff development.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and organizations to enhance educational opportunities.
  10. Participate in research projects and contribute to scholarly publications related to transfusion laboratory operations and education.
  11. Stay up-to-date on regulatory requirements and ensure educational programs are in compliance.
  12. Collaborate with leadership to identify education and training needs and develop strategies to address them.
  13. Stay current on advancements in education technology and incorporate into educational materials and programs.
  14. Mentor and train other education staff within the Transfusion Lab.
  15. Serve as an ambassador for Mayo Clinic, promoting our mission and values through education and training initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field.

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) By A Nationally Recognized Agency, Such As Ascp.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Working In A Transfusion Laboratory Setting, With A Strong Understanding Of Blood Bank Procedures And Regulations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals And Educate Patients And Staff On Transfusion-Related Topics.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Laboratory Data And Troubleshoot Technical Issues.
