  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures in a safe and accurate manner, following established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service and a welcoming atmosphere to donors, ensuring a comfortable and positive donation experience.
  3. Maintain proper inventory levels and ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment for donation procedures.
  4. Adhere to all regulatory and quality control standards, maintaining the highest level of accuracy and precision in blood collection.
  5. Handle and process all donations with care and attention to detail, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and transport to the laboratory.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the Donor Services team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations in handling donor information and records.
  8. Continuously monitor and report any potential issues or concerns related to donor health or donation process.
  9. Educate donors on the importance of blood donation and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  10. Attend training and continuing education sessions to stay updated on new procedures and techniques in phlebotomy and donor services.
  11. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork and mutual respect.
  12. Represent the organization in a professional and compassionate manner, promoting our mission and values to the community.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Donor Services Phlebotomist I At Mayo Clinic Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Cpt) Certification: Candidates Must Possess A Current Cpt Certification From A Recognized Agency Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Customer Service Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Customer Service Experience, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Will Ensure That They Have The Necessary Skills To Interact With Donors And Provide A Positive Experience.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For This Role As It Involves Working With Medical Staff And Handling Blood Samples. Candidates Should Have A Solid Foundation In Medical Terminology To Accurately Communicate With Donors And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail: Donor Services Phlebotomists Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure Accuracy In Labeling And Handling Blood Samples. This Skill Is Crucial In Maintaining The Safety And Integrity Of The Donated Blood.
