  1. Oversee the operations and management of the Infectious Diseases Serology and Mycology Laboratories at Mayo Clinic.
  2. Lead and supervise a team of skilled professionals, including laboratory technicians and scientists, to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic testing.
  3. Collaborate with physicians, scientists, and researchers to advance knowledge and treatment in the field of infectious diseases and mycology.
  4. Utilize cutting-edge technology and innovative techniques to improve laboratory processes and procedures.
  5. Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and precision of laboratory tests.
  6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards in the laboratory.
  7. Monitor and manage the laboratory budget, including procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.
  8. Stay updated on the latest developments and advancements in infectious diseases and mycology research.
  9. Provide guidance and support to staff in troubleshooting technical issues and resolving problems.
  10. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to promote teamwork and professional development.
  11. Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other stakeholders to provide timely and accurate test results and address any concerns.
  12. Participate in the development and implementation of new laboratory tests and procedures.
  13. Mentor and train new laboratory staff, as well as provide ongoing education and training for current staff.
  14. Represent Mayo Clinic in professional conferences and events related to infectious diseases and mycology.
  15. Maintain all necessary certifications and licenses required for the position, including board certification in infectious diseases and/or mycology.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Infectious Diseases Serology And Mycology, Including A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Techniques And Procedures.

  • A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Or Management Role In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, With A Demonstrated Ability To Effectively Manage And Develop A Team.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With Other Departments, Physicians, And External Partners.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret And Analyze Complex Laboratory Data And Make Sound Decisions Based On Findings.

  • A Doctoral Degree (Md, Phd, Or Equivalent) In Medical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Or A Related Field, And Relevant Board Certification (E.g. American Board Of Medical Microbiology) Is Preferred.
