  1. Provide consultation-liaison psychiatric services to patients with complex medical and psychiatric conditions.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  3. Utilize evidence-based treatments and current best practices in the field of psychiatry.
  4. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients' mental health and medical history.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  6. Stay up-to-date with advancements and developments in the field of psychiatry through ongoing education and professional development.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
  8. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
  9. Demonstrate compassion and empathy in interactions with patients and their families.
  10. Collaborate with community resources and make appropriate referrals for patients' ongoing care.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new treatment protocols.
  12. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Mayo Clinic.
  13. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and case conferences.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  15. Serve as a mentor and resource for other healthcare professionals within the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Board Certification In Psychiatry: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Be Board-Certified In Psychiatry By The American Board Of Psychiatry And Neurology. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Knowledge In The Field Of Psychiatry.

  • Experience In Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry: The Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. This Experience Should Include Providing Psychiatric Consultations In A Hospital Or Medical Setting, Collaborating With Medical Teams, And Managing Complex Psychiatric Cases.

  • Strong Diagnostic And Treatment Skills: The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Psychiatric Disorders, Diagnostic Criteria, And Evidence-Based Treatment Approaches. They Should Be Able To Effectively Assess And Manage A Wide Range Of Psychiatric Conditions In A Fast-Paced Hospital Environment.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Medical Teams, Patients, And Their Families. Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential For Building Rapport, Understanding Patient Needs, And Providing Effective Treatment Recommendations.
