
Community Pediatric and Adolescent Child Life Specialist
At Mayo Clinic, we are seeking a compassionate and experienced professional to join our team as a Community Pediatric and Adolescent Child Life Specialist. A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting working with children is also required. Candidates must also possess Child Life Certification from the Association of Child Life Professionals. Knowledge of community resources, ability to work independently, flexibility, and strong organizational skills are essential to success in this role. Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and psychological support to children and their families in the context of medical challenges.
- Educate and guide children and family members through medical experiences.
- Implement therapeutic interventions and activities for children.
- Monitor and evaluate patient and family progress.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate programs for children and families.
- Serve as a liaison between the medical staff and families.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions.
- Research and maintain knowledge of community resources.
- Provide leadership and support to other members of the medical team.
- Adhere to all relevant professional standards and regulations.
