  1. Provide specialized pharmaceutical care to oncology patients, including medication management, drug therapy recommendations, and patient education.
  2. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Utilize clinical expertise and knowledge of current oncology treatments to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  4. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and developments in oncology treatments and medications.
  5. Act as a resource and mentor for other pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals on oncology-related topics.
  6. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and tumor boards to provide input on medication therapy for oncology patients.
  7. Monitor and assess patient responses to medication therapy, make appropriate adjustments as needed.
  8. Document interventions and outcomes of pharmaceutical care provided to oncology patients.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  10. Maintain accurate and complete records of all medications dispensed and administered to oncology patients.
  11. Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards related to oncology pharmacy practice.
  12. Continuously develop and enhance clinical skills and expertise through ongoing education and training.
  13. Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring patients receive compassionate, patient-centered care.
  14. Collaborate with pharmaceutical industry representatives to stay informed about new and emerging oncology treatments.
  15. Promote a culture of safety within the pharmacy department and throughout the organization.
  16. Contribute to research projects and clinical trials related to oncology medications and treatments.
  17. Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours pharmacy services as needed.
  18. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  19. Serve as a positive representative of the pharmacy department and Mayo Clinic by demonstrating professionalism and a strong commitment to patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited Institution.

  • Board Certification In Oncology Pharmacy (Bcop) From The Board Of Pharmacy Specialties (Bps).

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Pharmacy Setting, With A Focus On Oncology.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Current Oncology Treatments, Including Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, And Targeted Therapies.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Educate Patients And Their Families On Medication Management And Side Effects.
