  1. Perform laboratory tests using advanced equipment and techniques to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  2. Analyze and interpret test results with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to established protocols.
  3. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  4. Organize and prioritize workload to meet the demands of a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and timely patient care.
  6. Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in laboratory science and apply new techniques and procedures as needed.
  8. Document and communicate test results effectively and efficiently, using appropriate terminology and methods.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  10. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in research projects to advance our understanding of various medical conditions.
  11. Maintain accurate and complete records of laboratory procedures, results, and quality control measures.
  12. Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission standards.
  13. Train and mentor new laboratory staff and students, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
  14. Actively participate in department meetings, continuing education programs, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, values, and goals of Mayo Clinic and promote a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures, Equipment, And Quality Control Measures.

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Through The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A High-Volume And Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Well In A Team And Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals.
