  1. Provide expert surgical care to patients with breast cancer and other breast-related conditions.
  2. Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  3. Perform surgical procedures with precision and in accordance with best practices.
  4. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  5. Stay current on advancements in breast cancer treatment and incorporate new techniques and technologies into practice.
  6. Educate patients and their families on treatment options, risks, and benefits.
  7. Ensure excellent communication and rapport with patients to address any questions or concerns.
  8. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
  9. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and ethical standards.
  10. Participate in research and clinical trials to advance knowledge and treatment of breast cancer.
  11. Attend and present at conferences and professional development opportunities to stay informed on the latest developments in the field.

Job Qualifications

  • Medical Degree: A Breast Surgical Oncologist At Mayo Clinic Must Hold A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Board Certification: Board Certification In General Surgery And Surgical Oncology Is Required For This Role. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Completed Rigorous Training And Passed Comprehensive Exams In The Field Of Breast Surgical Oncology.

  • Fellowship Training: The Ideal Candidate Will Have Completed A Specialized Fellowship Program In Breast Surgical Oncology From An Accredited Institution, With A Focus On The Surgical Management Of Breast Cancer.

  • Clinical Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Breast Surgical Oncology, With A Strong Track Record Of Success In Treating Patients With Various Types Of Breast Cancer.

  • Research And Publications: A Strong Research Background And A Record Of Publications In Peer-Reviewed Journals Is Highly Desirable For This Role. The Candidate Should Demonstrate A Commitment To Staying Current With Advancements In Breast Cancer Treatment And Surgical Techniques.
