
Athletic Trainer - Outreach

- Provide athletic training services to a diverse group of athletes, including amateurs and professionals, in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for athletes.
- Assess and diagnose injuries and illnesses related to athletic activity, and develop appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Educate athletes and their families on injury prevention, proper training techniques, and overall health and wellness.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all athletes, ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Serve as a liaison between athletes, coaches, and medical staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
- Participate in outreach programs and events to promote injury prevention and sports medicine services to the community.
- Stay current on the latest developments and advancements in sports medicine, and incorporate new techniques and technologies into practice.
- Adhere to all professional and ethical standards set forth by the National Athletic Trainers' Association and other governing bodies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, including proper maintenance and inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development by attending conferences, workshops, and other educational opportunities.
- Display a positive attitude and strong work ethic, while representing Mayo Clinic and its values in all interactions with athletes and colleagues.
Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation Of Knowledge In Sports Medicine, Injury Prevention, And Rehabilitation.
Board Of Certification (Boc) Certification: A Candidate For An Athletic Trainer - Outreach Job At Mayo Clinic Must Be Certified By The Board Of Certification (Boc). This Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met The National Standards For Knowledge And Skills In The Field Of Athletic Training.
State Licensure: In Addition To Boc Certification, The Candidate Must Also Hold A Current State License To Practice As An Athletic Trainer. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Qualified And Authorized To Provide Medical Care To Athletes In The State Where The Job Is Located.
Experience In Outreach And Community Settings: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working In An Outreach Or Community Setting, Providing Athletic Training Services To A Diverse Population. This May Include Experience Working With High School Or College Sports Teams, Community Events, Or Other Outreach Programs.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Athletic Trainer - Outreach, The Candidate Will Be Working With A Variety Of Individuals, Including Coaches, Athletes, Parents, And Healthcare Professionals.
