We are seeking an experienced and passionate Academic Hospitalist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a leader in patient care, research, and education, Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to bring their expertise and dedication to this role. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse patient population.The Academic Hospitalist will be responsible for providing inpatient care and teaching of medical students and residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing patient care and teaching in an academic setting. They will be knowledgeable of the latest medical protocols and have a strong commitment to patient safety.Required qualifications include an MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and board certification in Internal Medicine, as well as being eligible for licensure in Minnesota. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience in hospital medicine and a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience. Additionally, the Academic Hospitalist should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities of an Academic Hospitalist:
- Provide inpatient care to patients in accordance with the latest medical protocols and standards of care.
- Develop and implement teaching plans for medical students and residents.
- Monitor patient progress and document patient outcomes.
- Participate in academic research projects.
- Remain current with medical advances and best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Participate in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage patient care through evidence-based practice.
- Ensure patient safety at all times.
