- Lead and oversee all aspects of the men's basketball program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including but not limited to team practices, individual player development, game strategy, and overall team culture.
- Create and implement a comprehensive and competitive training program for student-athletes, with a focus on physical fitness, skill development, and mental preparedness.
- Serve as a mentor, role model, and source of inspiration for student-athletes, promoting a positive and healthy attitude towards athletics, academics, and life in general.
- Collaborate with the athletic department and academic faculty to ensure the academic success and well-being of student-athletes, including monitoring academic progress and providing support as needed.
- Recruit and retain highly talented and motivated student-athletes who align with the values and academic standards of Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with alumni, donors, and the broader community to enhance the visibility and reputation of the men's basketball program.
- Adhere to all NCAA regulations and guidelines, as well as the code of conduct and ethics set forth by Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
- Act as a liaison between the men's basketball program and other departments within the university, fostering a sense of collaboration and teamwork.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the program, seeking out new strategies and techniques to enhance the performance and success of the team.
- Serve as a physical education and wellness instructor, teaching classes and promoting the importance of physical activity and overall wellness to students at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Extensive Coaching Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience Coaching At The Collegiate Level, With A Proven Track Record Of Success In Leading A Team To Conference Championships And National Tournaments.
Strong Knowledge Of Basketball And Physical Education: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Game Of Basketball And Possess The Ability To Effectively Teach And Develop Players. They Should Also Have A Background In Physical Education And Wellness To Effectively Teach And Promote Healthy Lifestyles To Students.
Excellent Leadership And Communication Skills: The Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Lead And Motivate A Team Of Student-Athletes, As Well As Communicate And Collaborate With Other Coaches, Staff, And Administrators. They Should Also Have The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Engage With Students In A Classroom Setting.
