  1. Oversee and lead all aspects of the Brain Arousal State Control Innovation Center (BASCIC) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including research and development initiatives, team management, and budgeting.
  2. Develop and implement a strategic vision for the center that aligns with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
  3. Continuously monitor and evaluate the latest advancements in brain arousal state control and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  4. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages team members to think outside the box and push boundaries in the field of neuroscience.
  5. Act as a spokesperson and ambassador for the center, representing the organization at conferences, events, and other industry-related gatherings.
  6. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including academic and industry partners, government agencies, and potential funders.
  7. Ensure compliance with all ethical and regulatory standards in the field of neuroscience research.
  8. Develop and manage the center's budget, allocating resources effectively and efficiently to achieve goals and objectives.
  9. Provide regular progress reports to the organization's leadership and stakeholders on the center's activities and achievements.
  10. Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to help them reach their full potential.
  11. Identify and pursue opportunities for funding and partnerships to support the center's research and development efforts.
  12. Collaborate with other departments within the organization to identify potential synergies and opportunities for collaboration.
  13. Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, and make recommendations for improvements or changes to the center's operations.
  14. Ensure a safe and inclusive work environment for all team members, promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the center's activities.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In A Related Field: A Successful Candidate For The Executive Director Position At Bascic Should Possess An Advanced Degree, Such As A Phd, In A Field Related To Brain Arousal State Control, Such As Neuroscience, Psychology, Or Biomedical Engineering. This Demonstrates A Deep Understanding Of The Subject Matter And The Ability To Lead And Oversee Research Projects.

  • Extensive Experience In Research And Development: The Executive Director Must Have A Strong Background In Research And Development, With A Proven Track Record Of Successful Projects And Publications In The Field Of Brain Arousal State Control. This Experience Should Include Both Academic And Industry Experience, As Well As A Strong Understanding Of The Latest Technologies And Methodologies In The Field.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: As The Head Of Bascic, The Executive Director Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Researchers And Staff. Therefore, Strong Leadership And Management Skills Are Essential For This Role. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In Leading And Managing Teams, As Well As The Ability To Set And Achieve Goals, Make Strategic Decisions, And Foster A Collaborative And Innovative Work Environment.

  • Grant Writing And Fundraising Experience: The Executive Director Will Play A Crucial Role In Securing Funding For Bascic's Research Projects And Operations. Therefore, Experience In Grant Writing And Fundraising Is A Must For This Position. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Obtaining Grants And Securing Funding From Various Sources, Such As Government Agencies, Foundations, And Industry Partners.
