Welcome to the Knight Science Journalism Fellowship at Massachusetts Institute of Technology!   1. Develop and implement the strategic vision and goals of the Knight Science Journalism Fellowship program at MIT.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fellowship program, including managing the budget and resources, and ensuring program goals and objectives are met.
  3. Collaborate with the Fellowship team to design and implement innovative programming and initiatives that support the growth and development of science journalists.
  4. Lead the recruitment and selection process for Fellows, ensuring a diverse and talented cohort each year.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, media outlets, and other stakeholders to enhance the program's impact and reach.
  6. Provide mentorship and guidance to Fellows throughout the program, fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
  7. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the current media landscape and the challenges and opportunities facing science journalism.
  8. Represent the Fellowship program at conferences, events, and other networking opportunities to promote the program and engage with the larger science journalism community.
  9. Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation within the Fellowship program.
  10. Regularly evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the program, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Journalism, Science Communication, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Journalism Or Science Communication, With A Focus On Science And Technology

  • Demonstrated Success In Developing And Implementing Innovative Science Journalism Projects And Programs

  • Strong Network And Relationships Within The Science Journalism Community

  • Experience In Managing And Mentoring A Team Of Journalists And/Or Fellows
