Job Description

Mars, Incorporated is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager - Transportation to join our dynamic team. As part of the Procurement function, this role will require a strategic, analytical, and collaborative individual who is passionate about driving results and making a difference. The successful candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge of transportation sourcing, contracting, and logistics, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills.The Strategic Sourcing Manager - Transportation will be responsible for developing and managing a global transportation sourcing plan in alignment with Mars, Incorporated’s corporate and Procurement strategies. This role will focus on optimizing global transportation spend and driving continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality, and service.The ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, etc.), a minimum of 5 years of relevant sourcing and negotiation experience in transportation, and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of the freight market, strategic procurement processes, and the ability to think creatively and strategically are essential. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and manage a global transportation sourcing plan in alignment with Mars, Incorporated’s corporate and Procurement strategies.
  2. Optimize global transportation spend and drive continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality, and service.
  3. Influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Analyze freight market and strategic procurement processes.
  5. Think creatively and strategically to achieve cost savings and improve service levels.
  6. Negotiate contracts and agreements with transportation suppliers.
  7. Monitor and analyze performance of transportation suppliers.
  8. Develop and execute sourcing strategies to ensure cost savings and improved service.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation of sourcing activities.
  10. Identify and recommend areas of improvement in sourcing processes.
  11. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  12. Participate in relevant industry events and conferences.
