  1. Lead and manage a team of scientists in developing innovative materials for Mars Incorporated products.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive material development projects from concept to commercialization.
  3. Utilize technical expertise to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to make data-driven decisions.
  4. Develop and implement strategic plans for material development, taking into consideration market trends and business objectives.
  5. Oversee all aspects of material development, including sourcing, testing, and validation.
  6. Stay up-to-date with latest advancements and technologies in materials development and incorporate them into project plans.
  7. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists on the team.
  8. Maintain strong relationships with external partners and suppliers to ensure access to cutting-edge materials and technologies.
  9. Collaborate with product development teams to understand material needs and develop solutions that meet product requirements.
  10. Communicate progress and results to senior management and provide recommendations for future projects.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for materials used in food products.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve material development processes and procedures.
  13. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
  14. Represent Mars Incorporated at conferences and industry events related to materials development.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Materials Science Or Related Field: A Senior Material Development Scientist At Mars Incorporated Should Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Materials Science, Engineering, Or A Related Field. This Advanced Degree Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Material Properties, Testing, And Development.

  • Extensive Experience In Materials Research And Development: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In Materials Research And Development, Preferably In The Food Or Consumer Goods Industry. This Experience Should Include Developing New Materials, Improving Existing Materials, And Testing Their Performance.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Food Packaging Materials: Mars Incorporated Is A Leading Manufacturer Of Food Products, Which Makes Knowledge Of Food Packaging Materials Crucial For This Role. The Senior Material Development Scientist Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Different Packaging Materials, Their Properties, And Their Suitability For Various Food Products.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Developing New Materials Or Improving Existing Ones Requires A High Level Of Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills. The Candidate Should Be Able To Analyze Data, Identify Trends, And Make Data-Driven Decisions To Develop New Materials That Meet The Company's Needs.

  • Excellent Project Management Skills: The Senior Material Development Scientist Will Lead Multiple Projects Simultaneously, So Strong Project Management Skills Are Essential. The Candidate Should Be Able To Prioritize Tasks, Set Timelines, And Communicate Progress Effectively To Ensure The Timely Completion Of Projects.
