We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Scientist to join our Scientific and Regulatory Affairs team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our products, while also driving innovation and growth for our organization. As a Principal Scientist, you will have the opportunity to lead and shape the scientific and regulatory strategy for Mars, Incorporated, working closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.   1. Develop and implement scientific and regulatory strategies for Mars, Incorporated products.
  2. Lead and manage cross-functional teams to ensure product safety, quality, and compliance.
  3. Conduct research and provide technical expertise on food, petcare, and confectionery industry regulations.
  4. Work closely with external stakeholders, including government agencies and industry associations, to stay informed and compliant with changing regulations.
  5. Stay up-to-date on the latest scientific developments and trends in food safety and regulatory affairs.
  6. Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory documents and reports to relevant authorities.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams to drive innovation and growth through new product development and improvements to existing products.
  8. Analyze and interpret scientific data to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  9. Train and mentor junior team members on scientific and regulatory processes and procedures.
  10. Represent Mars, Incorporated in industry conferences and events to promote the company's scientific and regulatory initiatives.
  11. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in meeting regulatory requirements.
  12. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  13. Communicate complex scientific and regulatory information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  14. Proactively identify potential risks and address any issues that may arise in product safety and compliance.
  15. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all scientific and regulatory activities and documentation.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In A Related Scientific Field (E.g. Food Science, Nutrition, Biology)

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Experience In Scientific And Regulatory Affairs, Preferably In The Food Industry

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Global Food Regulations And Standards

  • Strong Leadership And Project Management Skills

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Interact With Cross-Functional Teams And External Stakeholders.
