  1. Lead data-driven decision making: Utilize your expertise in data science to drive data-informed decision making for the Decisions - Rider Segment team.
  2. Enhance rider experience: Use data to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to enhance the overall rider experience on the Lyft platform.
  3. Drive business growth: Leverage your analytical skills to identify growth opportunities and make recommendations for business expansion.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with other teams such as product, engineering, and marketing to develop data-driven solutions that align with business goals.
  5. Conduct data analysis and modeling: Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze data sets and build predictive models to solve complex business problems.
  6. Design and implement experiments: Develop and execute experiments to test hypotheses and gather insights to improve the rider experience.
  7. Communicate insights: Translate complex data findings into actionable insights and present them to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data science and ride-sharing industry to continuously improve our data strategies.
  9. Mentor junior team members: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists to help them develop their skills and grow within the team.
  10. Adhere to data privacy and security protocols: Ensure that all data handling and analysis adhere to company policies and data privacy and security regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Data Science Or A Related Field: A Staff Data Scientist At Lyft Should Hold A Master's Or Ph.d. Degree In Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Or A Related Field. This Educational Background Provides A Strong Foundation In Advanced Statistical And Data Analysis Techniques.

  • Extensive Experience In Data Analysis And Machine Learning: Candidates For This Role Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience In Data Analysis, Predictive Modeling, And Machine Learning. They Should Also Be Proficient In Coding Languages Such As Python, R, Or Sql, And Have Experience Working With Large Datasets And Data Visualization Tools.

  • Strong Business Acumen: A Successful Staff Data Scientist At Lyft Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Business And Industry, Particularly In The Transportation Or Ride-Sharing Space. They Should Be Able To Translate Data Insights Into Actionable Recommendations And Strategies That Align With The Company's Goals And Objectives.

  • Leadership And Team Management Skills: This Role Requires Not Only Technical Expertise But Also The Ability To Lead And Mentor A Team Of Data Scientists. Candidates Should Have Experience Managing Projects, Delegating Tasks, And Providing Guidance And Support To Junior Team Members.

  • Excellent Communication And Presentation Skills: As A Staff Data Scientist, It Is Crucial To Be Able To Communicate Complex Data Insights To Both Technical And Non-Technical Stakeholders. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills And Be Able To Present Data Findings And Recommendations In A Clear And Concise Manner.
