  1. Develop, implement, and maintain secure and scalable software solutions to ensure the safety and reliability of our transportation platform.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to identify and address security concerns throughout the development process.
  3. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to proactively identify and address potential threats.
  4. Keep up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies, and incorporate them into our security strategies.
  5. Communicate and educate team members on security best practices and procedures.
  6. Troubleshoot and debug security-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
  7. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, security, and adherence to coding standards.
  8. Mentor and guide junior engineers in security principles and best practices.
  9. Collaborate with external security researchers to identify and resolve potential vulnerabilities.
  10. Continuously improve and optimize existing security processes and procedures.
  11. Stay informed about industry standards and regulations related to transportation security.
  12. Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement incident response procedures.
  13. Contribute to the overall security strategy and roadmap for the company.
  14. Proactively identify and address potential security risks and make recommendations for risk mitigation.
  15. Participate in on-call rotations to respond to any security incidents or emergencies.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Software Security Principles: A Senior Software Engineer For Security Foundations At Lyft Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Various Security Principles Such As Encryption, Authentication, Access Control, And Secure Coding Practices.

  • Strong Programming Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Advanced Programming Skills In Languages Such As Java, Python, And C++, As Well As Experience With Web Development Frameworks Like Angular And React.

  • Experience With Security Tools And Frameworks: A Senior Software Engineer At Lyft Should Have Experience Working With Security Tools And Frameworks Such As Owasp, Burp Suite, And Splunk To Identify And Mitigate Potential Security Threats.

  • Knowledge Of Cloud Security: With Lyft's Infrastructure Being Primarily Cloud-Based, The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Cloud Security Principles And Experience Working With Cloud Providers Like Aws And Google Cloud.

  • Prior Experience In A Security Role: The Role Of A Senior Software Engineer For Security Foundations At Lyft Requires Previous Experience In A Security Role, Preferably In A Large-Scale, High-Traffic Environment, To Effectively Identify And Address Security Vulnerabilities.
