  1. Develop and execute test plans and procedures for firmware components of Lyft's urban transportation solutions.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize firmware testing needs.
  3. Conduct thorough testing and debugging of firmware to identify and report any issues or defects.
  4. Ensure firmware quality and reliability by performing regression testing and analyzing test results.
  5. Identify areas for improvement in firmware testing processes and make recommendations for changes.
  6. Collaborate with firmware development team to resolve any issues and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  7. Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve firmware quality and performance.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to firmware testing and integrate them into the testing process.
  9. Develop and maintain documentation related to firmware testing procedures and results.
  10. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on firmware testing progress and any issues encountered.
  11. Take ownership of firmware quality and work towards continuously improving it to meet customer expectations.
  12. Train and mentor junior team members on firmware testing processes and best practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In Firmware Testing: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Firmware Testing, Including Creating Test Plans, Executing Tests, And Documenting And Reporting Issues.

  • Knowledge Of Embedded Systems: A Deep Understanding Of Embedded Systems And Their Components Is Essential For A Firmware Quality Assurance Engineer At Lyft, As The Role Will Involve Testing And Troubleshooting Firmware For Various Devices And Vehicles.

  • Familiarity With Agile Methodologies: Lyft Follows An Agile Development Process, And The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working In An Agile Environment And Be Comfortable With Continuous Integration And Testing.

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: A Firmware Quality Assurance Engineer Should Be Able To Think Critically And Have Excellent Problem-Solving Abilities To Identify And Resolve Issues In A Timely Manner.

  • Communication And Collaboration Skills: As Part Of A Larger Engineering Team, The Firmware Quality Assurance Engineer Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Developers, Product Managers, And Designers. Clear And Concise Communication Is Crucial For Success In This Role.
