Job Description

As a Transportation Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our merchandise is delivered to our stores and customers in a timely and efficient manner.   1. Oversee and manage all transportation operations, including the delivery of merchandise to stores and customers.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve transportation efficiency and reduce costs.
  3. Monitor and maintain transportation schedules to ensure on-time delivery of merchandise.
  4. Hire, train, and manage a team of transportation staff, including drivers and logistics coordinators.
  5. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards.
  6. Analyze transportation data and make recommendations for process improvements.
  7. Collaborate with other departments, such as inventory management and purchasing, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of merchandise.
  8. Maintain relationships with transportation vendors and negotiate contracts to ensure optimal service and pricing.
  9. Monitor and track transportation expenses, and work to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
  10. Develop and implement emergency response plans to address any transportation disruptions or delays.
  11. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in transportation and logistics.
  12. Communicate regularly with store and customer service teams to address any transportation-related issues or concerns.
  13. Uphold company values and customer service standards in all transportation operations.
  14. Lead by example and foster a positive and productive work environment for transportation staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Transportation Management: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Overseeing Transportation Operations, Preferably In A Retail Or Distribution Setting.

The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, And The Ability To Quickly Solve Problems And Make Decisions Under Pressure.

  • Familiarity With Transportation Technology: In Today's Digital World, Transportation Technology Plays A Crucial Role In Managing And Optimizing Transportation Operations. The Transportation Supervisor Should Have A Working Knowledge Of Transportation Management Systems, Routing Software, And Other Relevant Technology To Effectively Manage The Transportation Process.
