Greet and welcome customers as they enter the store, providing a positive and friendly first impression.
Assist customers in finding the building materials they need for their projects, providing product knowledge and recommendations when necessary.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the store's inventory and be able to locate and order specific products for customers.
Proactively approach customers and offer assistance, ensuring their needs are met and questions are answered.
Listen to and understand customers' project needs and offer appropriate solutions, upselling and cross-selling products when appropriate.
Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
Keep the department clean, organized, and well-stocked, regularly restocking and facing products as needed.
Communicate with customers and other store associates in a professional and courteous manner.
Meet and exceed sales goals, utilizing techniques such as suggestive selling and product demonstrations.
Continuously learn about new products and industry trends to stay informed and provide the best service to customers.
Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive and cohesive work environment.
Follow all safety and store policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of customers and store associates.
Attend and participate in training and development programs to improve sales skills and product knowledge.
Provide exceptional customer service, resolving any customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain a strong knowledge of competitor products and pricing to effectively compete in the market.
Maintain a high level of personal and professional integrity while representing the Lowe's brand.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Of Building Materials: A Strong Understanding Of The Various Types Of Building Materials And Their Uses Is Essential For A Sales Associate In The Building Materials Department. This Includes Knowledge Of Lumber, Hardware, Plumbing, Electrical, And Other Building Supplies.
Customer Service Skills: The Ability To Provide Excellent Customer Service Is Crucial For A Sales Associate At Lowe's. This Includes Being Able To Greet Customers, Answer Questions, And Assist With Finding Products.
Sales Experience: Previous Sales Experience, Particularly In The Building Materials Industry, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This Includes Being Comfortable With Upselling And Cross-Selling Products To Customers.
Closing Skills: As A Sales Associate In The Building Materials Department, One Must Be Able To Effectively Close Sales And Achieve Sales Goals. This Includes Being Able To Overcome Objections And Negotiate With Customers To Complete A Sale.
Physical Ability: This Position May Require Lifting And Carrying Heavy Objects, As Well As Standing For Long Periods Of Time. Therefore, Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform The Physical Demands Of The Job.
