Oversee all front-end operations, including cashiering, returns, and exchanges
Train and supervise cashiers to ensure efficient and accurate transactions
Create and maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers
Handle escalated customer issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Monitor and maintain inventory levels at the front-end and communicate any discrepancies to management
Create and implement procedures to improve the front-end customer experience
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as cash handling and security protocols
Schedule and manage front-end staff to ensure adequate coverage and excellent customer service
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and a positive customer experience
Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and promotions to assist customers with their inquiries and purchases
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to front-end staff
Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and inventory management
Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed.

Job Qualifications

Strong Leadership Skills: As A Head Cashier, You Will Be Responsible For Managing And Leading A Team Of Cashiers. Therefore, Having Strong Leadership Skills Is Essential In Order To Effectively Delegate Tasks, Provide Guidance And Support To Your Team, And Handle Any Conflicts Or Issues That May Arise.
Cash Handling Experience: A Head Cashier Must Have Previous Experience Handling Cash Transactions And Managing A Cash Register. This Includes Being Able To Accurately Count And Reconcile Cash Drawers, Process Credit And Debit Card Transactions, And Handle Returns And Exchanges.
Customer Service Skills: Lowe's Places A Strong Emphasis On Providing Excellent Customer Service. As A Head Cashier, You Will Be The Face Of The Store And Must Have Exceptional Customer Service Skills. This Includes Being Friendly, Approachable, And Able To Handle Customer Complaints Or Inquiries In A Professional Manner.
Retail Experience: While Not Required, Having Previous Experience Working In A Retail Environment Can Be Beneficial For A Head Cashier. This Experience Can Help You Understand The Store's Operations, Policies, And Procedures, And Enable You To Effectively Assist Customers And Lead Your Team.
Detail-Oriented And Organized: As A Head Cashier, You Will Be Responsible For Handling Large Amounts Of Cash And Ensuring That All Transactions Are Accurately Recorded And Processed. Therefore, It Is Important To Be Detail-Oriented And Organized In Order To Avoid Errors And Discrepancies. This Also Applies To Managing The Cashiers' Schedules And Ensuring That The Cash Registers Are Properly Stocked And Maintained.
