Medical Assistant - General Surgery

• Greet and welcome patients to the General Surgery department with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in electronic medical records
• Conduct initial patient intake and perform vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight measurements
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist physicians during examinations and surgeries
• Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urine tests, and prepare specimens for testing
• Provide patient education on procedures, medications, and post-operative care instructions
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including exam rooms and medical equipment
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, and administrative staff, to ensure efficient and effective patient care
• Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Attend continuing education and training opportunities to stay updated on best practices and advancements in the field of General Surgery.
