
Lactation Consultant

In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting new mothers in their breastfeeding journey and promoting a healthy start for their infants. - Provide lactation support and education to new and expectant mothers in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized breastfeeding plans for each mother and baby based on their individual needs and circumstances.
- Assist mothers in initiating and maintaining breastfeeding, including proper latch, positioning, and milk transfer.
- Educate mothers on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and continued breastfeeding for at least one year.
- Address common breastfeeding challenges and provide practical solutions and resources for mothers to overcome them.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and provide continuity of support and education.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices related to lactation and breastfeeding, and incorporate this knowledge into patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient interactions, assessments, and interventions.
- Advocate for breastfeeding-friendly policies and practices within the healthcare system and the community.
- Participate in community outreach and education programs to promote the benefits of breastfeeding and support new mothers.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for other healthcare professionals on breastfeeding and lactation-related topics.
- Continuously evaluate and improve lactation services and programs to meet the evolving needs of mothers and babies.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards in the field of lactation and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Remain empathetic, patient, and non-judgmental when working with mothers from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and maintain current certifications and credentials.
Certified Lactation Consultant (Clc) Or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (Ibclc) Accreditation.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Nutrition, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Lactation Consultant.
Knowledge Of Current Best Practices And Evidence-Based Research In Breastfeeding Support And Education.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Educate And Support New Mothers And Their Families.
