- Perform and interpret a variety of genetic tests, including karyotyping, FISH, and microarray analysis, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients
- Follow established protocols and procedures in order to ensure accurate and timely delivery of test results
- Collaborate with physicians, genetic counselors, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and comprehensive genetic testing services
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and perform quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results
- Stay up-to-date with current trends, techniques, and advancements in the field of cytogenetics through continuing education and professional development opportunities
- Participate in research projects and contribute to the publication of findings in scientific journals
- Maintain accurate and organized records of test results and adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive patient information
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and other educational activities to promote a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Strong Knowledge Of Cytogenetic Techniques, Including Karyotyping, Fish, And Microarray Analysis.
Certification As A Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Cls) From A Recognized Accrediting Agency.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science, Genetics, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory, Preferably In A Hospital Or Academic Setting.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team-Based Environment.
