To excel in this role, you must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), and at least 2 years of experience in a clinical cytogenetics laboratory.   1. Perform cytogenetic testing and analysis on patient samples using established protocols and procedures.
  2. Accurately interpret and report test results, ensuring timely delivery to healthcare providers.
  3. Maintain a high level of quality control and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during testing.
  5. Participate in the development and validation of new testing methods and procedures.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.

  8. Contribute to scientific research projects and publications.
  9. Maintain accurate and organized records of all testing and results.

  12. Mentor and train junior laboratory staff and students.

  14. Participate in departmental and institutional meetings and committees.
  15. Represent the institution at professional conferences and events.
  16. Fulfill all continuing education and certification requirements.
  17. Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and furthering scientific knowledge in the field of cytogenetics.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Cls) Or Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist (Ccs) By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or Equivalent Organization.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Cytogenetic Techniques, Including Karyotyping, Fish, And Microarray Analysis.

  • Familiarity With Laboratory Information Systems And Data Analysis Software.
