- Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures by preparing and organizing necessary equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment by following strict infection control protocols.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist with tasks such as passing instruments, holding retractors, and cutting sutures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assist with patient positioning during surgery.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to coordinate and execute tasks efficiently.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
- Assist with transporting patients to and from the operating room and provide comfort and support to patients and their families.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on the latest surgical techniques and technology.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of surgical procedures, supplies used, and patient information.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for patients.
- Follow proper disposal procedures for medical waste and hazardous materials.
- Remain calm and professional during high-stress situations and be able to adapt to changes in the surgical environment.
- Continuously assess and report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of injury to self and others.
Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgical Technician In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.
Proficiency In Surgical Instrumentation, Equipment, And Procedures.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques And Infection Control Protocols To Ensure Patient Safety.
